Boracay!!!

Last June 13-15, Mac and I went to Boracay for a long-awaited vacation to de-stress and spend time with each other. It's our farthest trip together so far and Mac's first airplane ride so I was so excited for him.

After an airplane, van, boat and trike ride we were finally stepping on the white sands of Boracay!

At last, he's ridden a plane!

It's our farthest trip together (so far)...

First, we wanted to scout for other hotels that we can stay in although I have a booking in La Carmela we still wanted to check out other places. A guide kept on following us and recommending places that were not up to our standards. In the end, we just decided to stay in La Carmela after all since we were already tired of walking and their rooms are okay. La Carmela's rooms are okay although there were no hot water and I didnt like the location much coz it was a little far from station 1 where the restaurants are.

After checking in, we proceeded to look for a place to eat and since we were already hungry and didn't want to wait, we decided to eat in Andok's. After the late lunch we walked from Station 3 to Station 1 and scouted out places that we want to visit and restaurants we wanted to try.

We tried the famous Jonah's shakes which was okay and went on a paraw ride to see the sunset. Mac was so funny, being afraid of the water and all, he tried to wear the life vest which almost didn't fit him. We then went to swim in BOracay's shores. We loved the grotto area where the water was so clear that we can see fishes just swimming by our feet.

The Paraw ride (notice Mac trying to make the life vest fit him)

Trying to catch the sunset

Sunset again... Solo, this time.

Swimming!

We had our dinner in Gastoff's (I don't know if I got the name right) to try their ribs which was not as expected, racks was still better). we wanted to go drinking after so we went out at around 111pm but there were not a lot of parties going on, maybe because it was already off-season.

Waiting for dinner. I look sleepy already.

The standard Boracay sandcastle shot...

On our second day, we tried the ATV ride going to Mt. Luho which was such a rip-off. Still, the view from Mt. Luho was nice. We went swimming after coz it was so hot, but we forgot to put the sunblock in the bag and since we didnt want to go back to the hotel we just decided to swim anyway. We were under the sun from 10am to 1pm. Mac improved a bit in his swimming attempts. He can already float ( a little. hehe). When we got out of the water, we ate lunch at Nigi Nigi Nu Noos where the food was delish! Also got to try the rootbeer snowcone which was also good.

Mac thinking (I wonder what he's thinking of...hmm...food, probably. hehe)

We got massages after lunch and went to sleep. When we woke up we had such a bad sunburn that a simple touch is really painful. Nice time I will never forget the sunblock.

The next day the sunburn was getting worse so we didn't get to swim. We just ate brunch at a mexican place ( i forgot the name), went shopping for pasalubong and matching boracay shirts.

Notice the red faces...

My food before and after

Another tricycle, van, airplane ride and we were back again in Manila and back to the stress of everyday life. At least we had fun and Mac now wants to save up so we could travel again someplace else, sometime soon.

  2. Hi Tanya,

I think we paid 300 per ATV. I'm just not so sure what the going rate is now.

    Boracay is really awesome!
