La Luz Long Weekend

I took the announcement of the Oct 4-6 long weekend as a positive sign that the beach trip with Kira should happen. Mac and I haven't been to San Juan, Batangas since 2010 and we thought it was about time to come back. We first wanted to go to Acuaverde since this is a fairly newer resort that allows dogs however they were already fully booked. Our next option was La Luz and we loved it.

Kira loved running in the sand

And I loved snorkeling!

We stayed for two nights, we got a Premiere Loft which costs 3,600 for 2 persons per night plus 1,650 mandatory for meals per day. The buffet food was just okay (do not expect too much). And there is extra 450 per day for each dog you bring.

Some more things we found out during our trip:

  • We usually avoid going to Batangas because of traffic as you will have to pass by several towns when you exit SLEX, but during this trip we found out that SLEX is now connected to the Star Tollway which is convenient and in my opinion faster. Although please make sure you do not need to go to the restroom while travelling, I think the last gas station in SLEX was Caltex, after this, the next restrooms are already at the end of the Star Tollway
  • For La Luz's meals, try your best to come early. Their breakfast starts at 7am, lunch at 12pm, pm snacks at 3:30pm and dinner at 7pm. Sometimes there are items in the menu they do not refill or takes a while to refill
  • They will not check your baggage so you can bring in chips, donuts and other snacks. But you will have to buy beer from them
  • There are a lot of other activities, you can rent their kayak for 250/hour, biking for 250/hour and another 250 for the guide, massage for 250/hour also, banana boat and jet ski also. But if you're like me that just wants to swim, then you can snorkel for free (they will let you borrow life vests).
