Food was a little expensive but worth it. An order can actually be good for 2 people.

For appetizer I wanted to try the baked chicaron priced at P100.00. This was not as crunchy as the normal chicarons.

The grilled pork chops was my favorite! This tastes really good, it was a bit expensive at around P300 pesos but as mentioned 2 people can share this.
I think this was the steak and mushroom pie priced at P110.00. I bought some of this to eat at home. It really wasn't anything spectacular for me.

Rowena's Pasalubong

Before going home from Tagaytay, we also dropped by Rowena's Pasalubong which was just across the place we were staying.

Their selection of food for pasalubong are wide and Mac bought their buko pies while I tasted the Banana chips which was good.

Bulalo at RSM

Having Bulalo in Tagaytay is perfect because of the cold climate. Mac and I have tried Leslie's before so we ate at RSM this time.

And the winner is RSM! The soup is better than Leslie's.

The picture doesn't do justice to how good this was. I think an order of this is around P450.00 good already for 6 people.

We also tried the bangus belly kare-kare and Sisig which was just okay.

Room for Rent in Tagaytay - Filitico

My college friends and I went to Tagaytay last weekend. We wanted a cheap place to stay suited for a barkada.

Our first choice was Keni Po but they were fully booked that weekend so we ended up in Filitico. Filitico is a place just along the road if you are coming from Sta. Rosa exit and it is just across Rowena's so you won't miss it. They also have a sign in front because the place just looks like a regular house.

They have 4 rooms for rent and we stayed at 1 room which was already good for 6 people. They had a queen sized bed and provided 2 double-sizes mattresses. Total cost for 6 people is only P3,600.00. Really cheap and worth it since the place is relatively new and clean. I think if there is only 2 of you, the rate is P1,500.00

The bathroom also has hot and cold water, cable TV, ref and they can also provide cooking stuff for a charge if you want to cook.

In the morning, Ate Nancy (the owner) will bring you your free breakfast. The breakfast is already included in the room rate. Their coffee is good.

Early Christmas Gift

This weekend Mac and I had our early exchange gifts for Christmas! :)

Makes me realize how fond of gadgets we both are.

He got me a new head unit for my car. I love it! I can now play music videos, movies (perfect for going home to Bulacan), there's also a hands free bluetooth, a rear camera, TV... I just really love it. :)

Home-cooked Afritada

Since I got married, I have slowly learned to cook because my husband has a natural talent in cooking. :)

I can now cook perfect pinoy spaghetti and chicken sopas (hehe).

This weekend, Mac cooked a new dish for me. Chicken Afritada.

I did all the chopping while he did the actual cooking.

We did not use tomato sauce and instead used actual tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, chicken cuts, garlic, onion, patis, salt and pepper for added flavor.

It was really good! I was so amazed that it really turned out to look and taste like Afritada. (lol)

It's almost done. Just need to cook the chicken more.

Club 121 - Pasong Tamo

I rarely go to Makati because I always get lost and it's hard to retrace your steps because of the one-way roads.

But I made an exception on a friend's birthday.

We went to Club 121 which was located along the stretch of Pasong Tamo (going East - north bound from Edsa). Naturally, Mac and I got lost but we eventually found it.

Beer and chow is reasonably priced. What's fun about Club 121 is the activities they offer. You don't just sit down and drink with your friends, you can actually play beer pong, Wii and they also host trivia games.

If it wasn't so far from the office, I would invite my office mates to drink here.

They offer rice meals for those who haven't had dinner yet. The grilled porkchop was good.

Banchetto..Finally!

Every Friday at 12 midnight, a part of Emerald Avenue in Ortigas closes to give way to different food stalls. This place is called Banchetto and it really is a banquet what will all the food available to buy.

They have pinoy street foods, cakes, pastas, rice meals, sausages, burgers, pizzas - you name it, they have it.

Lots of stalls selling pastries
They also have freshly cooked bibingkas (although, this did not still taste as good as those in Bulacan)
Food is served turo-turo style
They even have streetfoods
Different kinds of turon.

What's good about it is that food is also really cheap. But be warned that it really gets crowded.
