Hong Kong Revisited

5 years ago, Mac and I went to Hong Kong for our Honeymoon. We have not come back since. So for our 5th year anniversary, we decided it was high time to go back to the first country outside the Philippines we visited together. Hong Kong!

So here's the entire trip's highlights in pictures.

The China Travel Services Counter in the Airport Terminal 1. You can buy discounted Ocean Park and Disneyland Tickets here. We got the Ngong Ping 360 tickets for HKD 190 with a crystal cabin-standard cabin round trip ticket. And Disneyland tickets for HKD 420

Arrivals area of the HKIA Terminal 1. From this sign, to the left is the CTS counter and to the right is the customer service counter where Octopus cards can be bought

The bus A21 just outside the airport will pass by Tsim Sha Tsui

Double decker bus

We stayed in Hotel Benito. Got upgarded to a King sized bed

Space is just right. Not too cramped (like a hostel) and not to spacious. This hotel's advantage is really its location

Citygate Mall in Tung Chung where there are outlet stores for Nike, Puma, Adidas, etc. I wasn't able to buy anything because we felt the selection is incomplete. Still better to go to Fa Yuen (for shoes) in Mongkok and Granville Road in Tsim Sha Tsui

Escalators going up the Ngong Ping cable cars

Regular Rates at Ngong Ping

I obviously had fun with the crystal cabin

It's like your floating

Couldn't resist sitting on the floor

We saw two hikers using this path.

Ngong Ping 360 cable car ride

Again, on the floor

Finally in Ngong Ping Village.

Like in Japan, they had this

You can write wishes in the wood and hang it here

There is also samples of other cable cars from other countries

While walking inside the village, a herd of cows (?) passed by us

These statues line the walkway and represent the different time of day

Steps going up to the Giant Buddha

Halfway there. Too tired. Had to stop several times!

Finally made it!

Ready to go back down

Was too tired from walking up the steps I gave up and decided not to go to the Po Lin Monastery anymore

Found an 888mL Coke PET bottle.

Last time we were in Disneyland, they did not have this section. We wanted to go back just to experience this.

We loved the rides in Toy Story land

Parachute ride going up and down

Garden

You can play with water pumps and get people on the other side wet

Lunch in Disneyland was expensive. Paid HKD 100++ for this

Dimsum

Went to Disneyland on a weekday and there was not such a big crowd. by around 2pm, we've already ridden and went to all the rides we wanted to experience. We did not watch any shows this time.

One of our all time favorite rides. The Astroblaster. We rode here I think 3 times. I always lost to Mac

Since it was Christmas season, there was a tree lighting ceremony

Ocean Park Day!

After exiting Admiralty Station, you will see the buses going to Ocean Park.

Interior of the bus

Don't miss the really cute pandas

They are so adorable

Cable car again. Going up to Thrill Mountain and the Summit

Pengiuns

The Symphony of Lights

We rode the Star Ferry from Central back to Tsim Sha Tsui
