Kota Kinabalu Valentine

This year's Valentine was celebrated at Kota Kinabalu.

Missed this beach!
Also missed eating at Bak Kuh Teh

It was a well-deserved break. Just some tips for those travelling to Kota Kinabalu:
  • If you are commuting to Clark for an Airasia flight, ride the Philtranco bus at the Megamall station (Bldg. A) The bus drops by at 7am, 9am and 12pm
  • Ensure you prepare money (around P1,600) for Travel Tax
  • If you are ariving at Kota Kinabalu at night, best to exchange ringit already in the Philippines. You will need at least RM 30.00 for the taxi fare (this is if you haven't arranged any service)
  • Beware of the immigration officers who might try to pick you up. (hehe)
  • Kuya Ishmael gives the best rates for the Island hopping. I posted his number already several posts ago.
  • Eat at Seri Selera. Their seafood, spicy wings is the best
Looking forward to the next adventure!

Mercato Centrale @ BGC

Mercato Centrale is just like Banchetto but for the AB market mounted by the man behind the ourawesomeplanet.com who also does the Ultimate Taste Test series.

Mac and I woke up early one Sunday to visit and celebrate one month of abstaining from rice by eating in Mercato Centrale.

You can find lots of good food and spot celebrities too!
Chocolates with alcoholic beverage
Mercato Centrale crowd
So love this chicken!

*Mercato Centrale is located along 30th street, Bonifacio Global City. You won't miss it because of the big, white balloon floating atop the tents.
It is open from 6am-2pm every Saturday & Sundays

Sundate at the Nido Science Discovery Center

When we were kids, our school had a field trip and we went to the old Planetarium in Manila.

I remember how amazed I was to see the planets and the solar system. I was telling this story to Mac when we passed by the Nido Science Discovery Center within Mall of Asia and he said that he never got to see the planetarium because he wasn't feeling too well on our field trip so he wasn't able to get in to see the show.

So we decided to see the Planetarium. Entrance is around P350.00 per person. This already includes unlimited access to all exhibits and one show in the Planetarium.

Mac meets Astroboy!
Plants vs. Zombies!

I highly recommend this for children who loves Science!

Blending with the Young Crowd

I was never really the type that would go out and party in discos and bars back in High School.

But last Friday, Mac and I went out with some of my younger officemates to party in their favorite hang-outs and bars.

We dropped by Izakaya in Greenbelt first. The crowd here was just ok. The place was more for drinking and conversations.

And then we moved to Attica. Wow! It was jampacked with teenagers, college students. The crowd made me feel old.
I was really taking a picture of the kids making out at the background

On to the dancing...
Fun night!

36th PBA Fiesta Conference: Finals

While I'm writing this, San Miguel & Talk and Text are fighting it out on the court for the championship.

It's game 5 today and the standing is 2 on 2 for both teams.

I've never been a basketball fan. I don't know the players and the rules of the game. But being there where they play, you can feel the passion that the fans have and you can't help but cheer for your team. So despite not being a fan, I still love watching live games. These are just some of our pictures while watching the game.
Beermen fans. Complete with fan shirts and red clapper balloons

Coaster going to the game
It was Mac's first time to watch a game live. Too bad I wasn't able to get a more decent picture.

Hope San Miguel wins!

2 Stars in One Night: A Wedding & Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban

Had fun dressing up for Paolo & Giselle's wedding. It was Mac's first time to wear a suit. Doesn't he just look dapper? Bert and Ace flanking him at both sides also dressed up.

Celebrity no. 1 was Derek Ramsey who was a guest in the reception.

Straight from the wedding, still wearing our formal dresses, we went to look at how the 2010 Red Horse Beer Muziklaban was going.
The 20,000+ strong crowd
Manny Pacquiao was a guest in Muziklaban. He said it was the first time that he sang to such a big crowd
Long Mejia was also there.
And congrats to the team that made this happen!

See you again in next year's Muziklaban!

Jatujak

If you are craving for Thai food, then head on over to Jatujak. Their Pad Thai and the Tom Yum soup is good.Do not forget to try their iced tea, it's more like a milk tea.

Had a nice dinner with College friends in Jatujak, Megamall.
