4th Wedding Anniversary

2012 was a busy year for me. We decided to do a staycation in Manila for our 4th wedding anniversary.

And we chose to stay in Hotel H2O in Manila Ocean Park since we have never been there.

An attraction inside your hotel room is the aquarium

Drinks at the Whitemoon Bar

Don't miss the fountain of lights show

It's More Fun in Puerto Princesa

Puerto Princesa. Finally! Took advantage of a deal in one of the online buying sites to go to Puerto Princesa.

We staed in Palawan Village Hotel which was just along the same road as the airport and 5 minutes away by car

It's very Spartan. So don't expect anything fancy

For our first day, we negotiated with tricycle drivers to bring us around for a day tour. We paid around 400 per trike for the entire day. A trike seats 3 adults

This is very similar to the Dampa that we have here in Manila, I assume the fish is just fresher here.

Mitra's Ranch. You can zipline here and ride horses

Baker's Hill is famous for its food that you can buy for pasalubong. But it is also a good place to take pictures. There is also a playground for kids and adults alike.

Next destination is the butterfly farm where you will also get the chance to hold scorpions.

This is the crocodile farm.

After the crocodile farm tour, you can go venture inside their nature park/zoo where they have several animals like this pig

Entrance to the nature park in crocodile farm

Don't miss the crocodile sisig. Must try.

During the night, we went to the firefly tour.

One of the more famous places to eat and have a few drinks in Puerto Princesa is Kinabuch.

Exotic Food

Buffet lunch included in the Underground River Tour

Our Tour Guide

Upon arriving in the Underground River Park, you will see a lot of these monkeys. Beware as they steal stuff.

Beautiful

Inside the underground river there are many rock formations.  You have to use your imagination. This one they call corn

We also went hiking and spelunking in the Ugtong River. This was one of the highlights of our trip

You can make like Tarzan and swing in the branches

Spelunking is HARD

Good job for Mac who fit in between the rocks

You have the choice to go back down the way you came  or be more of a thrill seeker and ride the fastest in the Philippines' zipline down.

Another lunch/dinner place to go to is Kalui. Make sure to book in advance because they are always full

For drinks afrerwards, Tiki Bar is the place to be

But of course what is Puerto Princesa without a visit to their beaches ?

Make sure to bring bits of bread to feed the fish
